Casa Grande Union AP Scholars Recognition

Casa Grande Union High School students have again experienced success with the Advanced Placement (AP) program. The AP program offers college-level curriculum and exams for high school students. Each year, students take AP exams in multiple subjects and by earning a high score on the test, are awarded an AP Scholar Award. CGUHS offers 18 Advanced Placement Courses: American Government, United States History, World History, Human Geography, Psychology, English Literature and Composition, English Language and Composition, Calculus AB, Statistics, Computer Science Principles, Chemistry, Physics I, Physics II, Biology, Spanish Language and Composition, Spanish Literature and Composition, Studio Art Drawing, and Music Theory.

The AP awards has several categories. CGUHS had 25 AP Scholars, 6 AP Scholars with Honors, and 8 AP Scholars with Distinction. The below list are students who are currently enrolled at CGUHS.

The AP Scholar Award is earned by students who receive scores of three or higher on three or more AP exams. This year's recipients are McKenna Cecil, John Cole, Colin M. Herbert, Mckayla M. Mckay, Lincoln Opara, Kristin Riggs, Henry Scholes, Paige Scribner, Curtis Shoemaker, Ruben Soto, and Diego Villegas.

The AP Scholar with Honor Award is granted to students who receive an average score of at least 3.25 on all AP Exams taken and a score of three or higher on four or more of these exams. This year’s recipients are Lucila Garcia, Gabriel Lizarraga, and Savanna Vasquez.

The AP Scholar with Distinction Award is for students who earn an average score of at least 3.5 on all AP exams taken and scores of three or higher on five or more of these exams. This year’s recipients are Arthur Leon, Brianna Riccomini, Sarah Teed, and Roma White.

Driver's Education Class available in November- Accepting enrollment now!
 Driver’s Education class will begin on November 1, 2018.  This class will start at 3:15 in room A195.  The teacher is Mr. Kieser.  Payment for the class is $ 200.00 payable at the bookstore.  To register, pick up a registration form from your counselor and have Mr. Kepler complete the form when you pay.  Return the form to your counselor to be placed on the list.    The class will consist of 30 hours of classroom time, followed by 6 hours of behind the wheel instruction.  The 6 hours will be scheduled at the convenience of the student and teacher and may extend through Christmas break.  Students must have their learner’s permit before they start the driving portion of the class.

1. Log in to your computer with you User Name and Password
2. Go to Internet Explorer or Google Chrome
3. Type in CGUHSD.org in the address bar
4. Select “OUR SCHOOLS” tab, drop down to Casa Grande High School
5. Hover mouse over Students & Parents
6. Click on PowerSchool in the dropdown menu
7. Log in with your ID # and password
8. Click on Sign In
9. Click on Grades and Attendance


Closed Campus
A pass to come to the office for pickup will not be sent to a student during his or her lunch period, as well as after 2:30 pm these times:
  • No passes sent from the office 35 minutes before the end of the school day.
  • No passes sent from the office during semester finals.
  • No passes sent from the office during pep assemblies.
Please make arrangements ahead of these times for your student to have their pass.
