(VGHS) Seniors in Mr. John Bill Caballero’s Media Literacy class crafted their own album cover using various editing platforms such as PowerPoint, Postermywall.com, and Canva. They applied a little bit of everything in crafting their album cover considering media language, media industry, media representation, audience, music genre, intertextualities, and “star appeal” by Richard Dyer. Additionally, students were free to select any of their supporting artifacts for their album cover such as original music video, merchandise, song lyrics, artist and genre breakdown, and tour itinerary. This initiative supports the vision of our district wherein students are offered differentiated options in creating a project.
