Vista Grande Staff vs. Seniors Showdown! 🎓

Get ready for an exciting 5-on-5 basketball challenge as Vista Grande High School celebrates both our amazing staff and the Class of 2026!

📅 Friday, May 8, 2026
⏰ 3:15 PM – 4:15 PM (right after school)
📍 Vista Grande Large Gym

This high-energy game will feature:
⛹️‍♂️ Staff vs. Grade 12 Students
🏀 4 full quarters (8 minutes each)
👉 Running clock for 1st–3rd | Stop clock in the 4th

💙 Why it matters:
This event honors Teacher Appreciation Week and celebrates our seniors as they get closer to graduation. Plus, all proceeds will support Key Club fundraising efforts!

Eligible Grade 12 students (passing all classes) can sign up with Mr. Caballero in Room 1116.

Jostens will be on campus on May 5th during both lunches to hand out purchased caps and gowns to seniors. If students are not able to pick up their cap and gown on Tuesday, they will be available in the front office for the rest of the week. If you have not purchased your cap and gown, you may do so at jostens.com. Congratulations seniors on this achievement, and please remember to finish strong!

NOTICE OF DESTRUCTION OF SPECIAL EDUCATION RECORDS
Casa Grande Union High School District will destroy special education records of former students who are no longer eligible for services and whose records have met applicable retention requirements under Arizona law.
If you are a former student, parent, or legal guardian and would like to obtain copies of records before destruction, please submit a written request to the District Office by June 1st, 2026.

Only 9th grade students will be on campus. Testing begins promptly at 8:30 AM, with dismissal at 1:05 PM.

Students in grades 10–12 will participate in required distance learning.

Hello Spartan families,

We are excited to introduce a new elective for next school year: Digital Media & Broadcast Journalism!
This hands-on course gives students the opportunity to be part of a campus media team while learning the fundamentals of digital media, broadcasting, and publication production. Throughout the year, students will:
Produce a video newscast every 1–2 weeks
Create a weekly digital newsletter
Write scripts and cover school stories and events
Learn camera operation, audio and lighting techniques, and video editing
Explore media ethics, copyright, and effective communication skills
This course is ideal for students who are creative, enjoy technology, like working in teams, or are interested in careers such as journalism, marketing, film, broadcasting, public relations, or digital media. There are opportunities for both on-camera roles and behind-the-scenes production, including writing, editing, photography, and technical support.

Digital Media & Broadcast Journalism helps students build valuable real-world skills in communication, collaboration, leadership, and problem-solving — skills that are beneficial for both college and future careers.
